Knights force Reynoldson into corner

Experienced Newcastle Knights and former Melbourne Storm forward Kirk Reynoldson is officially shopping around for a new NRL club tonight after coach Brian Smith; with the backing of the Knights board opted to exclude Kirk Reynoldson from this weeks Newcastle first grade lineup against the Penrith Panthers.

Kirk Reynoldson needs to play 1 more NRL match this year to reach 15 games played, which in turn activates a performance clause in his contract - to secure an additional year deal with Knights. Reynoldson and RPLA boss Matt Rodwell today met with Knights officials to work out a compromise - but no announcement has been made.
