Manly, Roosters and Titans Win

A thrilling Super Saturday tonight with 2 games going down to the wire.

Manly 13 def Storm 12
Manly won by 1 point over the Storm, in what was a top quality battle. The top two sides slugged it out and it looked like Melbourne was finishing the stronger - however the gutsy Eagles hung in to win the close one.

Slater suffered a massive blow to the face from a team mates knee, the star having his cheekbone fractured and will certainly miss several weeks. Shortly after, Manly big man George Rose had his right leg broken in a horrific accident. The big unit was sprawled on hands and knees as big Brett White came over the top - the weight pushing him down and snapping his leg like a twig. It wasn't a pretty sight on TV as it was spleyed out to the side.

Roosters 13 def Cronulla 12
In the battle of the sacked coaches, the Roosters finally awoke late in period 2 to sneak in two tries and take the game into overtime. The Roosters didn't look like even scoring for most of the match, but a late lapse by the Sharks saw the determined Bondi boys get through. Mini was the star with a field gold early in the golden point period.

Titans 24 def Souths 18
The bad times start to roll for South Sydney now, with several losses on the trot. The Bunnies were too basic tonight and didn't expand their play till too late. The Titans played well for the most part but let Souths sneak in after every scoring period. The talk is all about Souths big boy Jaiman Lowe who floored Brett 'Froggy' Delany with one of the fiercest and best connecting punches in League. Accordingly the illegal play was picked up, and Lowe was sent from the field. We'll hear plenty about this, as apparently Delany allegedly 'groped' Lowe's genitals and the vision while inconclusive does show Delany heavily involved around this area. Could be Hoppa all over again, this time Froggy Gate!
