Im a Tigers man - but jeez its a tough ask facing Melbourne in Melbourne for the first game.
Im hearing the melbourne player Israel Falou is going to be a boom rookie. Interested to see how Benji goes this year.
i am quietly confident graham. im a wests supporter as well. i really think with benji back the tigers will be sharp and creative. he lifts the players around him well. the other thing is - as the article says - no pressure on us this year!
does anyone know which referee is controlling the Wests / Melbourne Match? God I hope it aint Steve Clark, he always hammers the tigers.
ref is Mr Bean / Sean Hampstead
he is probably the best of the crop in my opinion
interested to see fitness levels tonight - if one team is better at the back end. spose thats only good if its a close game tho. those tigers better aim up
well heres the late mail:
BRISBANE are expected to be as named for their match against North Queensland, with Shane Perry likely to play hooker off the bench.
Cowboys coach Graham Murray has dropped 18th man Scott Bolton from the bench.
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy is expected to drop Sam Tagataese and Ryan Shortland off the bench for the match against Wests Tigers.
Parramatta flew to Auckland with coach Michael Hagan reporting no injuries for the clash with the Warriors, who are also as named.
Manly second-rower Anthony Watmough is expected to start if he recovers from a groin injury in time for Saturday night's clash with Canberra.
Canberra coach Neil Henry will decide on his bench after training today, with Ben Jones "being considered".
Sharks coach Ricky Stuart expects five-eighth Adam Dykes to play against Penrith despite missing the club's trials with an ankle injury.
Matt Bell is likely to drop off Penrith's five-man bench.
Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes said his side would be as named against Newcastle on Sunday, with Cory Paterson and Jesse Royal expected to drop off the Knights bench.
Mat Rogers (stomach bug) and Nathan Friend (shoulder) are in some doubt for the Titans' first game, against St George Illawarra, on Sunday at Suncorp Stadium.
Rogers did not train on Wednesday, however coach John Cartwright expects him to recover in time. Brett Delaney is on stand-by.
Lagi Setu, picked as the Dragons 18th man, is likely to be forced off the bench.
Roosters coach Chris Anderson expects his side to be as per program against Souths at Aussie Stadium on Monday night. Souths have no injury worries.
apparently the tigers paint their targets and goals for the year on the fence at erskinville oval
